Progress?

Progress is Golden, or so they say.....right? Except when it is time going by way too fast. When we first found out we would be moving (ok, we didn't find out, we made a decision due to POOT getting the PD job), I thought "April? I can do April, no sweat!". Big. Fat. Self Lie. I can't pull this off by myself, who am I kidding? Granted, I AM Super Mom, but even Super Mom has her limitations.

This is a big move people. I cannot let this be a swirly mass of chaos the same way all of our other moves have been. So, being the OCD neat freak that I am, I am going to spend hours organizing, then re-organizing, packing, unpacking, re-packing, fending off the TOT from mass destruction of my "progress"......Dear God and Baby Jesus in a Manger, someone else do it for me. But do it my way, k?

Mother's of Toddlers should get moving discounts. What do I mean? We should be allowed to call up the local movers/packers and have them say "Oh you have a toddler? Ok, 75% discount for you Mama. We'll be right there to do it all for you".  Yeah, I know. In my dreams.

Better start packing. Or organizing.

Our move looks like it is going to happen a lot sooner than April. Wish us luck!

I don't DO scary movies!

Week one alone? Check. Night one alone? Disaster. The wife loooooves the Resident Evil movies. <insert melodramatic sigh here> Because I am a fantastic wife and give generously of my time *maniacal laugh*, I agreed to watch the most recent one with her. Big mistake. HUGE. Not only did I spend that first night alone (shaking, with the covers pulled up to my chin, peeking out over the edge) with the lights in the kitchen, hallway, living room AND bedroom on, I have since established the following routine upon entry to my home:

I stalk up the stairways (babbling TOT in arms- that should scare ANY zombie apocalypser wannabe away!), and stealthily (ha) unlock the door. Really, I must be attempting quiet so I can get a *one up* on these zombies, gain the upper hand and be able to freely launch myself and my TOT out the 2nd story window should they try to eat my brains. Yep. Moving along. I quiet the riotously barking Dogs of Terror (.....about that upper hand), set the TOT down and prepare to search the premises. Deep breath. Now is when I start throwing myself into rooms with a big *AHA!!, GOTCHA!!*. Yeah, that's gonna scare those zombies! Once I have determined all rooms clear and zombie free, I go about the rest of my evening with TOT and DOTS. One night, I even considered going to bed with a butcher knife. Yes, really.

Now, I think of the worst imaginable scenarios possible and make myself miserable. Sounds fun, right? Since that first night though, I have tamed down my light usage to the lowest setting on the touch lamp in the bedroom and a lamp in the living room. That's reasonable right?

Sweet Baby Jesus, I'm pathetic.

Ready, Set.....

GO!
If you're following me, you probably know me, which means you know I have a toddler and a wife. In that order. Of importance. Truth. Okays**, so here is a little background for those that want it and because I'm in charge. Jokes, kind of.  Sandra goes to school 2 hours (SOB) away, leaving me, Sebastian (precocious 15 month old), Kyli (shih Tzu), Lizzy (lab), Grizzabella (furball meow) and Ramsey (extravagantly furballing meow) all to our own devices for approximately 10-14 days at a crack. Let me tells you, it gets CRA-ZY. Thankfully, I have fabulous in laws who frequently come to my rescue and cart the pincher off every other weekend (I CAN BREATHE!).

All jokes aside, we struggle, we struggle a lot, and we struggle some more. This life is hard, but it is creating our future. So far, we have been apart since September. Risk of redundancy aside, we have been miserable. BUT, we got FANTASTIC news over Sandra's holiday break from school. She has been hired on at the local police department where she goes to school, which means *drum roll please*.....our little family will be together again this Spring! **cheers** This means that things already crazy are going to get, well, *shrugs*, crazier.

There you have it, some background and a little springboard from which to dive into the lives of the O'Donnell clan. Welcome to my life. Enjoy the ride, and watch out for the toddler.
